What is Engineers Week?

DiscoverE engineering logoEngineers Week is a yearly week-long event, first started by DiscoverE, to promote the everyday work of engineers, their accomplishments, and educating students about possible careers in engineering. You can read more about Engineers Week at the National Society of Professional Engineers' website.

At Los Alamos National Laboratory, Engineers Week includes a poster session featuring posters from employees engaged in engineering work, traditionally kicked off by a keynote speaker selected by the lab.

In 2022, Engineers Week's theme is "Reimagining the Possible". From the DiscoverE website:

"Engineers create new possibilities all the time. From green buildings to fuel-efficient cars to life-saving vaccines, engineers work together to develop new technologies, products and opportunities that change how we live. Let’s inspire the next generation by celebrating all the ways engineers turn dreams into reality by reimagining what seems impossible to become the Possible!"
